Keeper

The Current Custodian

For one hundred and fifty years, this house has breathed the air of these mountains. Its history is not something I own. It is something I am entrusted to keep.

Isurugi, Aizu.

Keeper's Essentials

I honor the tools that permit me to touch this 150-year-old wood. They are not merely objects, but partners in preservation. Through them, I listen to the house.

Preserving the Structure

I focus on preserving the physical structure — from the foundational beams to the ornate dome (roof tile ornament) of the Omoya. My duty is to ensure these silent witnesses continue to breathe for generations.

Through the Minato Gallery project, I am the current custodian of these walls.
